Draft Screening Assessments and Risk Management Scopes
Industry-restricted Gas Oils
In May 2012, the draft screening assessment report for two Stream 2 substances was released and the related Notice was published in the Canada Gazette Part I: Vol. 146 No. 19 - May 12, 2012 ( PDF Version - 2,282 K) for a 60-day public comment period.
Industry-restricted Petroleum and Refinery Gases
In April 2012, the draft screening assessment report for four Stream 2 substances was released and the related Notice was published in the Canada Gazette Part I: Vol. 146 No. 17 - April 28, 2012 ( PDF Version - 2538 K). A risk management scope document was also released in conjunction with this publication. There is a 60-day public comment period associated with this publication.
Industry-restricted Heavy Fuel Oils
In April 2012, the draft screening assessment report for five Stream 2 substances was released and the related Notice was published in the Canada Gazette Part I: Vol. 146, No. 16 – April 21, 2012 ( PDF Version – 6866 K) for a 60-day public comment period.

In April 2012, the draft screening assessment report for three Stream 2 substances was released and the related Notice was published in the Canada Gazette Part I: Vol. 146, No. 16 – April 21, 2012 ( PDF Version – 6866K) for a 60-day public comment period.
Launch of Stream 2 and Submissions Received
Stream 2 substances for the Petroleum Sector Stream Approach were identified during the initial triage as industry-restricted substances, which are substances that may be transported off refinery, upgrader or natural gas processing facility sites to other industrial facilities but they do not reach the public market in the form originally acquired.
Information on Stream 2 substances was gathered from industry and interested stakeholders through a mandatory survey Notice issued under section 71 of CEPA 1999 ( Canada Gazette, Part I, Vol. 143 No. 30 – July 25, 2009). They were also invited to complete a voluntary questionnaire.
